The countries AIMS International covers through our Regional presence
Earlier this month, we shared a synopsis of our newest partners of AIMS International. As a special highlight, several of our partners hold responsibility for neighbouring countries, where there is no physical presence on our part but where we confidently deliver value to local and international clients and candidates.
The benefit our partners bring to those markets – and to organisations entering them – goes further than simple proximity, of course; our partners understand the market there, have experience with the local business environment, and understand and appreciate broader cultural and linguistic particularities. This approach is another way AIMS International is able to support our clients and candidates wherever they need.
APAC
We start in our APAC region. Manila, in the Philippines, a country of about 110 million people, has been one of the most dynamic economies in the East Asia Pacific region which are supported by our team in Singapore. Taiwan belongs to a group called the Four Asian Tigers, along with South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong, it’s also been taken care of by AIMS International Singapore.
The Americas
Across the Pacific, we take care of Quito, Ecuador, a country covered by AIMS International Peru. It takes some getting used to the altitude in Quito, the second highest capital city in the world and South America’s oldest, but it prepares us for Colombia’s capital Bogotá, the third-highest capital city in the world. The team in Colombia – the fastest growing large economy in the region (the World Bank says it’ll see 5.4% GDP growth this year) – AIMS International Colombia holds responsibility for Venezuela.
Now, if you were wondering what the very highest capital in the world is, that’s where we are off to next: La Paz in Bolivia. This Andean country is covered, together with Paraguay and Uruguay, by AIMS International Argentina. (Over 98% of Uruguay’s electricity now comes from renewable sources, the culmination of a difficult ten-year programme to turn the country’s dire energy situation around. Driven by the president and the national director of energy, this is a case study in vision and leadership.)
Small is Beautiful is a highly influential 1973 collection of essays on sustainable development, and Costa Rica is very beautiful. Small as it is, the team there offers a very wide range of recruitment and HR services in 16 countries and territories across the Caribbean and central America: the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as the fastest growing economy in the world, Guyana (100% GDP growth in 2022–23 based on fossil fuel extraction). That’s it for our Americas region.
EMEA
We head over the Atlantic to our EMEA region. where we touch down in Casablanca, Morocco’s business centre. From this port city, AIMS International Morocco serves Côte d’Ivoire, a fellow member of Africa’s francosphere, where GDP growth is at 7% and not likely to drop far through 2026. As described last week, AIMS International East Africa in Kenya supports sub-Saharan Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria, as well as Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. AIMS International Gulf covers Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Further north, AIMS International Spain represents Portugal, while AIMS International Switzerland covers the tiny and very rich principality of Liechtenstein. The team in Germany assists businesses in Austria with executive search and talent management and the large, photogenic team at AIMS International Sweden helps Norway’s corporates with the same, as well as with board services, a particular specialism. Also on the Baltic, AIMS International Lithuania helps out in their country’s “brother nation”, Latvia.
There’s a reason we say AIMS International is the world’s second largest global firm specialised in board services, executive search and talent management. We cover a lot of the planet. Including Bratislava, Slovakia, where our corporate clients and candidates for senior executive positions can rely on our team in Czechia.
Nextdoor, AIMS International Hungary does the same in fellow EU states, Slovenia and Croatia. Finally, in the Balkans, AIMS International Albania covers Kosovo, where over 90% of the population is ethnically Albanian. The team in Tirana also consults to Italian companies on nearshoring there, since the country’s labour force is highly cost-competitive by comparison and relatively young too.
